Making Waves
Learning Resources -> Tutorials -> Getting Started With Maya -> Fluid Effects -> Lesson 4: Creating an ocean effect
This exercise teaches me to create a realistic wave by using what Maya already has, just by tweaking certain attributes, it is able to make the wave look more desirable. Initially, when I just "created the ocean", it does not look like an ocean to me at all because it was just a still image in wireframe mode. But after following through all the steps and watching it render and play, I really feel as though the wave is real. Although it was quite tedious to keep switching tabs between the video and Maya, but it is all worth it as I have learnt a lot through it and still very amazed by what Maya can do.
